Hello, I'm starting to do the homework on turbo-ing my CBR600 F3. I know, I know, not a lot of displacement here, but I already own it and have not seen anyone attempt this on this bike. I've designed and built my own turbo system for my snowmobile, it works, so I know what it takes to pull this off. I'm targeting 150 ish HP, around 8-9lbs boost. Looking into Garrett T2 or an aerocharger turbo, blow through the stock carbs. The bike has a 2 stage ram air system, with a solenoid to switch between the 2 ram air bowl air pressure lines. I will be removing this and building my own intake. Would like the boost to come in low, around 4-5000 rpm or less. Questions: 1. I have no experience with the CV carbs. I'm assuming these can be used without major mods (plus the plumbing is already there to pressurize the bowls). Literature suggests slightly stiffer springs and stage 3 jetting with richer mains. Do you guys install larger needle and seats or adjust float level? 2. What is the stock fuel pump capable of (psi, hp)? I'm planning on replacing this pump and adding a high flow pump and boost sensitive fuel pressure regulator with return to tank. Is this what most of you carb guys are doing? 3. I use a popoff valve on the sled, am planning to do so here. However, I know Rick uses a priority air inlet valve also, are the performance gains worth it? 4. Any suggestions on the intake manifold? 5. Don't have room for an intercooler. How many of you are running without one? What kind of boost are you running on pump gas? any other tips welcome. thanks, Dave.
